Dave is no stranger to Apartment Therapy. He's been a house tour participant several times and we're pretty impressed with his third time around. We're particularly impressed with his compact kitchen which infuses unlikely colors and textures, resulting in a great space.
Dave has experimented several times with decorating his home. He's an interior designer and even though his home was previously sensational, he knew that it just wasn't him. He really tried to channel his own wants, needs and loves this time around and we think he did really well.
We've noticed that Dave chose to use a lot of brown. We're not talking the typical light beige that can be found in most homes, we're talking full on brown — in several different shades. Brown can be a little tricky in the kitchen because most people go really bright and bold (bright colors tend to excite the palette and get you in the mood to eat!)
Dave's color palette is unusual, but extremely success. The brown on the tops of the walls matches the cabinets perfectly and really accent the vintage stainless steel appliances. It's such a surprising combination! And who doesn't love vintage knives and a marlin on the wall? So unexpected, but much appreciated.
