If you are a fan of actor John Turturro's work in films like O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Barton Fink, you'll love this peek into his Brooklyn kitchen via the Wall Street Journal. Read on to learn more about the man who says, "People who don't enjoy food, it's like I don't want to work with them or be friends with them."
Turturro and his wife, actress Katherine Berkowitz, renovated their kitchen in the Brooklyn brownstone they bought in 1994, adding stainless steel counters and a large, marble-topped table to the space they say is the hub of their home.
Dark chocolate, eggs cooked in olive oil, pasta, "a good piece of bread" and listening to saxophone music while cooking are a few of Turturro's favorite things, and he gives an especially lyrical description of the espresso in Naples:
Espresso in Naples is the best. I could talk about it for the rest of my life. The crema, or head, is so big—twice as big as the espresso. It tastes almost like bitter chocolate. Then they make you have a shot of water rimmed with sugar after. It's like a poor man's sensory voyage.
His wholehearted love of food has made us even bigger fans of his work!

Thank you for this post! JT is one of my favorite actors ever!
Same here. Sometimes I think it's hard for me to be friends with people who don't like food or talking about it. They are seriously loco those people.
I usually feel bad for people who don't enjoy food... it's like they're missing a wonderful part of life and they don't even realize it
I agree. Food is something that everyone does and when people don't care what they eat, etc., it makes me sad. I love food. I love discovering new places to, methods, combinations. Food is glorious!
Aw, he's great. I find anyone who doesn't love a good meal to be a dreadful bore.
