If we are really honest we may have to admit that Ice Cream Month was (partially at least) dreamed up as an excuse to feature these 20 ice creams from Mercedes at Desert Candy. She did a whole 20 days of ice cream, starting with this giant green blob.
This avocado ice cream looks and sounds amazing - rich and dense, sweet and creamy cool. But don't let it distract you from Mercedes' other creations: Indian Pudding Ice Cream, Baklava Ice Cream, Quince Ice Cream with Almond Praline, and Kulfi Pops.
We were so impressed with her lineup that we're going to feature one more tomorrow - our very favorite and on our bookmarks to try soon. For now, check out her avocado ice cream. Have you ever made green ice cream?

Buying an ice cream maker has inspired me to make more ice cream than I'm inspired to eat, but it's so much friggin' fun! In the nine days I've had it, I've made six recipes!
One of the first ice creams I remember making as a kid more than 25 years ago was my mom's recipe for avocado ice cream using fruit fresh from our trees. It's a wonderful taste you'll never forget.
Oh my gosh, me too! My mom made great avocado ice cream, it was our favorite! I'll need to make it this weekend.
I've never had avocado icecream - but I love Vietnamese avocado shakes with sweetened condnesed milk. I would bet avocado icecream is simular. Have to try this esp since the avos are so good right now.
