Cupboard Challenge! Beans and Sour Cream

Last week I wrote about la cucina povera and how I want to cook through the over-abundance of my cupboards, full of mysterious cans and jars purchased and forgotten.

Well, I want to give you a crack at my cupboards too! Here's my first cupboard challenge, and since it's the first one, it's pretty easy. What would you do with: a can of black-eyed peas, half a container of sour cream, tomato paste, and peeled garlic cloves?

You're allowed to throw in anything else you have in your own refrigerator or freezer, but no running out to the store! I have some ideas, but I'd like to hear what the rest of you come up with too. I'll post a recipe next week.
