It should come as no surprise that Crystal Gentilello, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Rue Magazine, has a stylish and well-edited kitchen. But as she tells Apartment Therapy, it certainly didn't come that way:
When Crystal moved in to her San Francisco apartment, the kitchen was sans shelves, cabinets, and counter space, the stove and fridge were very outdated, and the water heater was exposed. So, with the help of a contractor, she had open shelves, new appliances, and a woodblock island installed for more prep and storage space, and an encasement built around the water heater.
My favorite element, though, is the hanging metal pendant light above the butcher block. What a statement!
