While some people like to use the weekend to tackle home improvement projects, baking projects are more my speed. If you, like me, enjoy taking advantage of your free time by attempting ambitious new recipes, these croissant cinnamon rolls are just the ticket.
Now, when I say these are a weekend project, I mean it — they take a couple days to make from start to finish.
You begin by making a typical croissant dough, which you then laminate for those extra-flaky layers croissants are famous for. The dough has to rest overnight in the fridge (here's where your patience comes in to play!), but after that you roll out the dough, spread on a cinnamon-sugar mixture, and then cut it into palmiers. Place those palmiers in a round baking pan, and then set them in the oven to bake.
Feeling overwhelmed? Don't be. The author guides you through the post with a bunch of awesome GIFs. She also includes a recipe for a basic cream cheese frosting, if you want to go all out and drizzle it on top of the freshly baked rolls (which yes, you definitely want to do).
