Throwing any dinner parties this weekend? We think that even simple place cards can add a touch of fun formality to a sit-down supper. And how about this whimsical name card idea from reader Jess?
Jess threw quite a housewarming party for herself and her boyfriend; we love the sound of the menu! It included fresh figs, heirloom tomato bruschetta with grilled ciabatta, an
arugula salad, roasted salmon, and homemade strawberry ice cream! What a summer feast! (Love the flowers, too.)
But we especially loved this little touch: place cards made from Scrabble tiles. Cute! It also shows how you can set a fun, special table without buying anything new. Little place cards like these can bump up a casual dinner party with just one special touch. Do you use place cards at your dinner parties?

I feel like you'd need to buy a lot of extra bags of tiles to make that work. Still cute, though.
I love this idea. Thanks for suggesting it. I might even play a game of scrabble after dinner!

Clever! Especially clever for Scrabble lovers like me.
