One of our favorite appetizers (or dinners, come to think of it) is a big board of cheese and nibbles, with good ham, crumbly cheese, chutneys, olives, crackers, fruit, and nuts all laid out for an evening of snacking. Well, we are really loving this antipasti board from Jamie Oliver; it seems like the perfect accessory for a spread like this!
Apparently Oliver designed it for a friend's wedding, and now it's on sale in his web shop. We're rather sad that shipping from the UK to the States is so high; we won't be ordering this any time soon, but we love the idea. When you have a lot of guests around the table, it can get cluttered with plates and glasses quickly. This elevates some of the food, turning it into its own centerpiece.
We could also picture lining the top with candles or flowers, or layering all sorts of crostini, or using it to serve small slices of pizza. Or dessert, too! How about little truffle bites on a platter like this?
Does anyone have a tip on something similar available here in the US?
