Corner cabinets are a tricky spot, especially in small kitchens that seem to be all corner. Corner cabinets are extra-deep and they're often difficult to use effectively. Here's a rather strange yet oddly awesome solution: Corner drawers.
This is a fairly odd looking solution, and I frankly don't think I would spring for it in my own kitchen. But I have to admit that it might be the option in some spaces, and the thought of all that extra drawer space is rather appealing.

Wooww just what every one we need in our kitchen!
Seriously, that is some nice custom woodwork. It is good looking and super useful.
I'd take this over the tiered Lazy Susan ANY day - so much simpler, so much more practical.
Very clever...wonder how long before Ikea makes one of these? ; )
I love it! What a great Idea! This space in my kitchen is largely wasted.
Somehow the merged drawer fronts remind me of conjoined twins.
I took the time to draw out what this would look like from above, and unless the cabinet partitions on each side of the corner drawers follow the 45-degree angle of the drawers, you're still wasting about the same amount of space.
Came here to say what kissthecook already said. I'd use this if I had two corner cupboards to deal with, leave one alone so I get the extra space on the sides and then have the other one with the drawers.
It's a pretty genius solution though, if you don't mind losing some space.
We don't have a lazy susan in our corner cupboard, just two shelves. I put all of our rarely used large cookware or appliances back there and don't mind getting on my hands and knees to pull it out when needed.
I still don't like the wasted space this solution leaves. Our corner cabinets have a jointed door, so both the left and right sides open at once. Then, inside the space, the shelves are staggered. There's one on the left wall and one on the right wall. It is so perfect for big bakeware. I don't have to stack stuff much and I can reach everything pretty easily.
This is a much better alternative than the standard wasted space.
I've had the tiered lazy susan before, which is ok, but not great.
One of my childhood homes had an informal dining room on the other size of the corner cabinet space which was opened up to be a large cupboard. It was really surprising how much we were able to store in an area that would normally not hold anything.
It looks like your saving space, but your losing space. I would prefer to have the two seperate drawers and then with the hollow space access it from the opposite side for storage. You will never have this problem in a galley kitchen.
Genius! I want this in my kitchen. I hate getting on my hands and knees to get my crock pot and dutch oven out of those back shelves.
My husband uses these in his beautiful custom cabinets. http://www.coroflot.com/tylerjdesign/Cabinet-Work
These are cool! I at first thought there would be lost space, but I'm not sure. There is lost space with a lazy Susan, too..
I love my corner lazy susan. I have all my pans, cookware, rice cooker etc on it. They are easy to access and everything fits very well. I could not get 1/2 of the stuff I currently store there into these shelves.
In the other corner cupboard I have a whirly thing that holds 3 recyling bins, with enough room for all my pet food and pet supplies underneath. Again, these drawers wouldn't hold even a fraction of that stuff.
Verdict: clever idea, but not for me.
i prefer these corner drawers any day. yes there's loss of space but cleaning my mother's corner cupboard (dumping ground) was a nightmare. i love cleaning, but not when i'm crouching into the corner cupboard.
yes! awesome!
If you were doing truly custom cabinetry, I suppose you could design the flanking cabinets with trapezoidal sides to get back the wasted space...
It doesn't use the space more efficiently, as many commenters have already pointed out, but being able to bring stuff out into the light is a big plus. We have one of those corner cupboards with no lazy susan or drawers of any sort, and it's just a big cave and I hate it. I might try the staggered shelf solution someone mentioned, though.
I have drawers like these in my new kitchen... at first sight I thought they were "ok" but wasn't in love with them- but my husband REALLY wanted them. Now, after living with and actually using them- WOW- LOVE them- we also have a lazy susan but hardly ever gets used- we use the corner drawers like crazy and they are a perfect solution for our kitchen. Awesome!!
I love this idea so much that I wish I had a corner to put them in.
