I sometimes find elaborately-decorated cookies a little hokey and silly. Cute, yes — but not something I'd necessarily put on my dessert table. But these cookies from Japanese cookie artist cookieboy are frequently more inspiring — they are little works of art from an artist who has chosen to work with icing and cookies instead of paint and canvas.
Cookieboy is a young artist living in Tokyo. He works in cookies, taking inspiration from everyday things of life, and often adding in a touch of whimsy or humor. You can see more of his work at his website:

I find bright icing unappetizing a lot of the time, but those feathers are simply gorgeous
I love the feathers, they're so fun and original! The camera is pretty awesome and clever too!
beautiful cookies, almost too pretty to eat.
These are indeed pretty, but theres oodles of gorgeous local cookie makers blogging like mad if you were to look. Some of my favorite blogs to follow are relatively local bakers who make amazing works of art with some royal icing and cookies. These are tame compared to lots other out there.
i've never seen feather shaped cookies and i LOVE THEM!
Just think, you can use that cookie cutter to make corn-dog cookies too! Seriously though, gorgeous.
Wow, these truly are pretty stunning.
