Nothing says "Valentine's Day" like those little conversation hearts that say cute things like "Love You" or "Be Mine." They're adorable and colorful and sweet. The only problem is that they're chalky and powdery and taste kind of awful, don't they? I don't know about you, but I'd much rather give my love a cookie.
These Conversation Heart Cookie Cutters from Sur La Table strike a nice balance between nostalgia and deliciousness, so you can make conversation hearts that someone might actually want to eat.
The cutters are a two-sided design. One side cuts the heart shape, and the other presses a saying into the middle of it. A set of eight costs $20 and includes hearts that say Love You, I'm Yours, True Love, Be Mine, Kiss Me, Hugs, Kisses, and XOXO.

They sell these (the cookies not the cutters) at grocery stores, I just noticed this year! I may give in and buy a batch. I don't understand why they're called "metallic" when they're described as ABS plastic?
Or you can get an ordinary heart-shaped cookie cutter and write (or stamp) your own slogans.
I think the company is called Chicago Metallic.
Yeah, it's the name of the company.
I just got these this week & started making the cookies today. Super cute & my kids loved them. Ok, I love them, too. It's kinda scary how many cookie cutters I now have. Since I re-organized my cabinets as part of the Jan cure, I realized just how many I have.
Those are cute, but do you know how easy it is to make homemade conversation hearts? Piece of cake. And you can personalize your nice (or naughty) messages with a food-writing marker. :)
