Ours is a big red stockpot that's battered, banged, and bruised, but still going strong. We love dusting it off and taking it down from the top shelf each autumn when we start soup season in earnest:
From here on out, it'll take a place on the stovetop. Even when cleaned, it rests with its lid on a back burner until we use it again (generally within the next 24 hours!). What color is your stockpot?

I have the Lodge 6 qt in Island Spice(gradated red). I love this stock pot. My son and his wife gave it to me for Christmas last year. It looks really good on my black stove.
Thanks for this article. I've been on the lookout for a solid stock pot. I've heard good things about this one
I really want that orange one - but I have an induction range and I don't know if it will work. I've been sticking with Le Creuset.
I have the LeCreuset stock pot and have been unimpressed. I received my first one as a wedding gift and the enamel chipped shortly after we got it. I exchanged it for a replacement. And while it didn't chip right away, after a year of use, the enamel began to chip quite a bit.
Sorry, mine are stainless steel (5 qt. and 11 qt.) and fat and squat, not tall, sleek, and colorful. IKEA's stainless, all-metal 365 pots. Love them to bits. Round, squat, with heavy bottoms. Sort of like me. Lol. No wonder they cook so well!
I have the red Le Creuset enameled stock pot featured here, and I love it. It's light (which is nice when you're trying to carry around a very large pot when it's full), functional, and pretty.
I also love that orange one featured here! How fun!
