Wow, here is one design concept we really wish we could buy. It's a hanging herb planter and fruit basket for the kitchen, and we know exactly where we'd put it.
We have a sunny, open window area in our kitchen that would be so perfect for something like this. We've even thought about putting hanging plants there and dismissed the idea because we weren't sure how to hang them easily and effectively.
This design concept from Måns Salomonsen is not just good-looking — it's very clever, too. The herb garden on top absorbs excess moisture from the fruit, and then as it this moisture evaporates it cools the area below — helping the fruit stay fresh longer.
We'd love to get our hands on one of these; it would be a great little seed-starting vessel, too!

Any idea on where to buy one?? The link does not have purchasing info...
I'm interested too. It looks beautiful and so functional. Perfect for an apartment-sized kitchen.
Great design. But does anybody else see the face of an angry cat?
meow!
ah, this is interesting! i like it but i tend to hang plants in sunny windows. even with the evaporation cooling, wouldn't the fruit still get overly warm i wonder...
I see the angry cat! Banana eye is the most annoyed!! But I love the basket/planter! So much better than those wire stacked hanging baskets
Brilliant!

Makes me wonder if I could rig up the top section of my current wire hanging baskets to grow herbs--line it with plastic? Of course it wouldn't look so mod...
Ikea needs to pick this up and make it affordable/accessible everywhere. This is the perfect solution for people with cats to keeping herbs and fruit in the kitchen.
My kitties seem to think that taking a bite out of my bananas and walking away is appreciated. But this I could hang over the sink, which they avoid. Also, hanging planters would keep herbs out of reach of curious cat teeth.
