Taxes are due tomorrow! Are you staying up late tonight with your W-2 and spreadsheets? Last year we suggested a fantastic sandwich for your late night sustenance. This year we're going one better and giving you a cocktail to help you finish (or celebrate) your tax return.
This drink was actually created by Todd Brinkman, a sommelier at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. He helps develop the cocktails at the resort, and he came up with this cocktail for Tax Night.
We might not sip this while actually doing our taxes, but it seems very appropriate for celebration!
Tax Relief
makes one cocktail
1.5 ounce Knob Creek Small Batch Bourbon
1.5 ounce cranberry juice
0.5 ounce fresh lime juice
0.5 ounce simple syrup
1 cup crushed ice
Add Knob Creek, cranberry juice, lime juice, sugar, and crushed ice in blender.
Blend on slow speed for 15-30 seconds, or until mixture appears frozen, and pour into 12 ounce glass.
Garnish with lemon.

Love the idea of a blended drink for tax day! Awesome!
We will also be drinking tonight some tax day customized cocktails - check them out here: http://servedraw.com/2010/04/its-tax-day-we-need-a-drink/
It's almost midnight and I am about to do my taxes. They are very simple this year and will take no time at all. I'm going to have a snack of fresh guacamole and yucca chips that I got from the fabulous, independent corner grocery store earlier this evening. Off I go!
PS I WISH I had that cocktail.
I want to drink that right now. It's 8:54 am
I work at a bookkeeping firm; I'll be having a few of those cocktails tonight when work finishes up, let me tell you! This is not the week to work with finances.
