And now for a clever kitchen storage idea perfectly suited for small spaces: open kitchen shelving that's installed beneath the staircase! We love how neat and clean the shelves look lined up with the stairs. Obviously you need the right setup to make this work, i.e. stairs with an empty wall that opens into your kitchen, but it's still a great idea!
Tyler Restorick, the owner of this kitchen, told Dwell that she uses accessories as color in her spaces, so the items on this shelf are not only for practical use but "an integral part of the overall design."

it's clever, it's cute, but w/o covers this is a baaaaaad idea. i put a closet space under my stairs & i got SOOOOO much dirt on my stuff. it's amazing how much gets kicked around.
