Last month we told you about Bram Cookware — a treasure trove source for clay pots and cookware. Here's a look at Claybourg, a similar source, but one that emphasizes French styles of clay cookware.
Claybourg imports French-style clay cookware and bakeware — most of it painted in colorful patterns and designs. They have many styles of cookware and bakeware that we have struggled to find elsewhere, like covered faitout dishes and casseroles with handles (great for French onion soup!).
They also carry salad bowls and cups in those same designs, so it's easy to put together a matched set for yourself or as a gift.
We haven't ordered from Claybourg yet, but we like their bright, French country-style patterns and the functionality of the clay cookware. Do you have any direct experience with Claybourg?

Beautiful, but at $70 for a single salad bowl, I think I'd rather take a ceramics class at the JC and make my own!
Price is relative and depends on perception and personal tastes. They are very reasonable actually for quality handcrafted genuine imports.
I know, just my personal reaction (I'll freely admit that I'm cheap, I grew up poor). Actually, after looking at the rest of the site, most things ARE quite reasonably priced. The salad bowl seems an anomaly, and made a bad first impression on me.
The quality of this pottery is truly first rate. They are handmade, beautifully glazed and painted pieces. It is really hard to tell from a picture the quaility of the workmanship here, you have to hold them in your hand. The prices are extremely fair for what you get with this cookware, can be used on the stovetop, in the oven, and stunning on the table.
