Classic French Insulated Teapots

This time of year we almost drink more tea than in winter — especially with the weather not being able to make up its mind. We have two vintage insulated French teapots we adore (one steel, one copper) found at flea markets over the years and you can't beat their simple, smart design, and how they keep tea warm for hours. Ours aren't marked, and whenever people ask us where they can buy one, we never know where to suggest.

But we finally tracked down this French classic and a few places you can buy it.

I love these teapots. Martha Stewart used to sell them in her web site a few years back. They are not cheap, but so worth with the insulated layer...

I'm curious, is the insulated cover really all that much better than a good well-padded tea-cosy?

I've found my insulated copper cover teapot (named darth teapot) retains heat longer than my teapot with a padded tea cosy. I found mine at a flea market too and it was only $12.
