The couple's inspiration for the house, as they tell Apartment Therapy, was the Colorado landscape and the surrounding mountains:
We wanted a space that would constantly invite us outside and remind us of the natural beauty that surrounds it. Being up in the mountains can feel cozy and expansive at the same time, and I think that influenced our design choices.
Many of the elements in the tiny kitchen, like the knife rack and lighting, are from IKEA. The stove is an alcohol-burning sailboat cooking stove by Cookmate, while the refrigerator is an AC/DC Superconductor frige by Avanti.
