We're enjoying some fine spring weather, and I have pizza on my mind. Grilled pizza is, after all, the first reason to pull out the grill in the spring. And homemade pizza is one of the simple, delicious delights of the home kitchen. With just a few ingredients and a home oven you can create pizza that rivals even the best artisanal pizza shops. Floral Drink Dispen...

I cheat by using ready made dough (plain or wheat) and then go from there. My bf doesn't like tomatoes so I usually put garlic in oil lightly over the base, ground fresh salt & pepper, then chopped fennel, some chopped black olives, chopped prosciutto all over. Top with shredded Italian 6 cheeses and bake. Remove from oven and garnish with bunches of baby arugala and top quality olive oil drizzle. Yummmm!
The Leek, Ricotta and Lemon one looks so delicious!

I think pizza is my most blogged about food, since I eat it at least once a week. The no-knead dough in the fridge makes it convenient for after-work dinners.
My fav topping combo is, in order:
A thin layer of tomato paste, then Yves pepperoni, grated Follow Your Heart non-dairy cheese, baby spinach, diced mushrooms, onions and minced garlic tossed in olive oil. Oh, and sliced black olives. Finish with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, oregano and basil.
Instead of a pizza stone, I cook it on a cast iron griddle -- It's all covered in a two part blog post about my "pizza secret".
Not sure where to start, these all look wonderful!
My favorite pie is the one my husband makes on Friday nights. It's become a habit that we do at least once or twice/month. He alternates between a thicker, biscuit-like (being form Northern California, I don't dare call it Chicago-style) pan crust and a thinner, Neopolitan style crust. The toppings vary from week to week but depending on what we have in the house but it never fails to disappoint. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that its a Friday night, comfortable at home and cooking together with our daughter while sipping on a cocktail or glass of wine but it never fails to disappoint.
If you don't have time to make the pizza dough yourself, they surprisingly sell very affordable and deliciously fresh pizza dough at Whole Foods. Here's the trick to getting to good stuff: http://bit.ly/lwnn2X
This one is hands down my favorite - I make it on the storeband flatbread, YUM!
