I have a lot of spatulas in my kitchen, but the ones I reach for over and over are the ones that can most effectively scrape out my mixer bowl. Chef'n has a new spatula designed specifically for the curve of a stand mixer bowl, and it gets rave reviews at Williams-Sonoma. It fits around the blades, so you scrape down your mixer bowl without turning off the mixer.

VERY cool spatula. I burn through them so I'm always on the look out for comfy ones.

I still wouldn't dare scrape down the bowl with it still on. I don't care who you are or how careful/angled you have a spatula, one wrong move could end with broken spatulas or worse- broken fingers. It's not that hard to turn it off for a sec to scrape it down!

(If I'm really concerned about scraping while mixing I use my beaterblade attachment. Works great)
