Until very recently, I loathed sweet potatoes. I am not sure why; they just made my skin crawl. Maybe it was the over-sweetened purees that pass for sweet potato dishes at holiday potlucks; maybe it was the combination of marshmallows and vegetable.
But lately I have had a wicked craving for sweet potatoes. Baked, roasted, steamed and mashed - sweet potato fries, sweet potato chips. I have no idea what effected this change; who knows what mysterious nutritional deficiencies are at play?But it made me curious - are there any foods that you hated and suddenly fell in love with? Anything you despised and then adored? What made the change? Do you know? Or is it just a mystery of tastebud evolution?
