Celebrating with Squares: Throw a Holiday Card-Making Party with Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares

Holidays are the perfect time for our favorite crafting activity — handmade collage cards! Slipping in a Ghiradelli Chocolate Square is the final touch to add decadence and celebration to a heartfelt holiday note.

Invite a few friends over on a weekend morning and get through your list of friends and family in a convivial way, full of holiday giggles and re-use of paper ephemera.

Step 1: Make Your List

Who deserves a pretty card and a bite of chocolate this year? Draw up your list!

Step 2: Gather Your Supplies

For a holiday card-making party, you'll need plain white cards, a few pretty paper scraps (magazine clippings and old postcards are great), a set of watercolors, various gouache paints, an assortment of pens, rubber stamps, and plenty of glue sticks.

Step 3: Create Your Cards

Create cards by pasting and painting the white cards with clippings and scraps, and paint on a message.

Listen to Christmas carols and keep the tea flowing, while simple snacks of fresh fruits and cookies complement the chocolate squares you may have to "sample" in between sticking them into each finished card.

Step 4: Slip in a Ghirardelli Square

As you finish each card, slip it into an envelope with a Ghirardelli chocolate square — Peppermint Bark is the perfect holiday flavor.

Send away and picture happy faces of friends and family opening your sweet cards!
