Last summer we brought you a tour of a new restaurant opened by blogger Molly (of Orangette) and her husband Brandon. Delancey, their Seattle pizza restaurant, has become quite a hit. We were enamored of the interior design (as well as the menu) and we just discovered that the great pendant lights installed throughout the restaurant are now available via their designers. More
Q: We are moving into a rental home that has no pantry and no coat closet. There is some space for a free-standing shelving unit along one wall, but I don't really want all of our food out in plain view. I also don't want to spend a fortune on a free-standing pantry unit since we aren't going to live here forever.
I've tried to get creative with my Google searches, but finding solutions for no pantry isn't as easy as I thought! Any suggestions?

So, we just encouraged you to get rid of unnecessary kitchen paraphernalia, and any product reviews we do here at The Kitchn are done with the Cure in mind! We examine products in our own kitchens, asking, is this helpful, wellmade, and beautiful? That was the question we approached this WellnessMat with. We have reviewed several gel mats now, and this time our question was really: Are gel mats worth the high price tag? More
These handy rotating serving platters were once a fixture on every dining room table, but you really don't see lazy susans all that often anymore. We think they're really quite handy! Maybe it's just a case of nostalgia, but we've been thinking about finding one of our own. More
Ikea may call this a bar table, but we saw it an thought, "Most Perfect Kitchen Island Ever." We've been in the market for a good kitchen island for months and this one seemed to fit everything we were looking for: stainless steel top, room for our legs underneath, sturdy construction (as observed at the Ikea store), and sleek look. Aside from the dining table (if it lives in the kitchen) or a breakfast bar with high stools, the kitchen isn't usually a place where we think about sitting. It's more about standing, moving, bending, and cooking! But we noticed that quite a few kitchens in recent tours have found a spot for a stool or chair — a little corner where a friend can sit down and chat with the cook. Here's a look back at ten nice seating options we've noticed. More
Growing up in an old farmhouse, I never appreciated our old farmhouse sink until I moved away and had to tussle with a standard-issue apartment-sized model. No more filling enormous pots beneath the tap. No longer could I stack dirty dishes to Seussian heights. Bathing medium-sized dogs was also out. Now, in loving tribute to the enduring, hardworking farmhouse sink, we bring you this collection of images. More
We've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately getting ready for holiday entertaining and just enjoying the chance to putter around while the weather outside is frightful. The only downside? Sore back, aching shoulders, and tired feet! The company GelPro makes a series of floor mats that promises to relieve the fatigue from being on our feet all day, and over the last two months, we've put one of their new designer mats to the test. Our post in defense of eating in front of the TV stirred up quite a bit of controversy! It got us curious about our various eating habits: where do you sit down (or stand up!) to eat your dinner? More
One of the biggest complaints, and hardest things to change, about a rental kitchen is the floor. When you own a kitchen you can put down new tile or wood floors — but even then you may not want to for reasons of cost. So, many of us are stuck with ugly, peeling linoleum tile, but here's one great option for renters and budget owners alike: Canvas floor cloths. More
