We are fans of BUILT NY's bright, stretchy, and well-made wine totes and lunch bags. We've mentioned their cute lunchbox and their picnic duffel too. Now they're expanding into kitchen tools as well: they want to help you make your lunch, not just carry it. More
On cold mornings we like to sit down in front of the computer with an entire pot of tea. Our little teapot doesn't do such a good job of keeping our tea warm, and we've often thought about getting a tea cozy to keep our pot hot all morning. But most tea cozies we've seen just aren't to our taste: too gaudy, too much crochet, a little too country-kitchen. Then we saw this one from Inklore. More
We love this apron idea from the US-based company Just Perfect, which adds a zip-off towel along the bottom of a regular apron bib. What do you think? More
We've been noticing a lot of fresh, pretty tea towels by independent designers. They're an inexpensive and often colorful way to spruce up your kitchen. We have started thinking of them as calling cards or entry points for good designers; if you can't afford a pair of pillows or a full-on art print, you can probably still get a tea towel! You can use them to decorate, even in a rented kitchen; or do as we do and cover your television with that great "Do the Dishes" towel from Showpony.
Here's a gallery of ten favorite tea towels for decorating, gifting, or spreading across your holiday tea tray. More
We may have finished our week of highlighting local apples, but that doesn't mean we'll stop eating them for many months to come. We love these little cozies that are designed to cushion your apple (or pear) in a purse or lunch bag, so it doesn't end up bruised. See another of our favorites from this Etsy seller, below... More
We've been blogging some of our favorite IKEA products for the kitchen - good, cheap buys that are also of good quality. Here are our picks so far! More
We aren't so great about replacing or tossing our old kitchen towels, even when they've seen better days. They are just so useful, and if it's laundry day, there's a good chance we'll reach for one while doing dishes and find an empty cupboard (even though we counted more than a dozen last time we checked).
Like we said the other day, IKEA is best used in moderation. But there are some good buys there and we have a few favorites that have done very well for us. Here's another IKEA pick: the all-cotton TEKLA towel! Now, these don't actually come in napkin form, but... More
We don't write about a lot of purely decorative accessories here at The Kitchn; we try to stay rooted in the more practical side of cooking and eating. But cooking does involve presentation, and since we're planning on buying a few items from this line of textiles, we wanted to show you too. More
