Remember those Rice Krispie eggs from Bouchhon Bakery that we showed you around Easter? That was a rather easy recipe for colorful crispy eggs. This is one more recipe from Bouchon Bakery. They have these on sale for Mother's Day, but here we have their secret recipe. It's a little more complicated than the Krispie eggs, but it's also a fascinating look inside how professional confections are made.
Elana is looking for some help with a Mother's Day menu. Here are her criteria:
I need a good Mother's Day Menu. I am having my mother and father and my mother-in-law and father-in-law over for dinner on Mother's Day. They are excited to use our new china and crystal and silver, so I need a meal worthy of serving on such nice place settings. My parents and my in-laws keep kosher, so no trief and no milk products with the meal unless I serve fish.
Are you planning a brunch or lunch for Mother's Day? What are you serving? Do you have drinks planned yet? We have a whole post of Mother's Day cocktails coming up for you on Friday, but here's an early extra: a twist on the mimosa.
We have been really enjoying Cookstr, a new site that brings recipes from cookbook authors and chefs to the internet. Many of these recipes have been buried in books, and it's great to have digital versions of them online. We've been enjoying Cookstr so much, in fact, that we are partnering with them to bring you curated menus straight from their great selection of recipes.
This week's Cookstr menu is one designed to get you thinking ahead: are you having your mother over for Mother's Day? What are you cooking? Here are our suggestions.
