We get a lot of questions about knives. What knife should I buy? Help me find an affordable chef's knife! Should I buy this knife set? Etcetera. We invariably recommend one good chef's knife and a paring knife or two. But we also have one specialty knife in our drawer: the bread knife. This slicing guide is a product that we instinctively feel like we should ridicule. What a unitasker! And yet we are so uncoordinated that our tomato slices often come out either wispy or chunky — and don't even talk about our bread slicing clumsiness. OK everyone, this is it! The big push to get your kitchen clean, organized, and well-equipped before we turn and start in on the cooking part of the Kitchen Cure next week.
