What a cheery kitchen! Although there are elements in this condo kitchen that the owners detest ("The lighting in the kitchen is awful. Also, we hate the countertops, but we don't have the money to bring in contractors") the rest of the kitchen is a lesson in making it work. More
If you're a fan of Anthropologie, then you'll probably love Emily and Erick's LA kitchen. It's full of sweet, decorative details (the fabric garland chandelier, the purple door) that recall that store's aesthetic. Emily is a prop stylist and interior decorator, so it's no surprise to learn that Anthropologie was a one-time client of hers! More
This airy apartment sits in a top floor of a renovated 19th century warehouse in Brooklyn's Red Hook neighborhood. One of the owners, Nick Cope, is the founder of Green Painting, an eco-friendly paint business. So, of course, since paint is his expertise, you'd expect to find a lovely color in the kitchen! How pretty is that blue? More
Catherine Hammerton, a London-based textile designer, creates whimsical, vintage-y and very British-looking patterns. Everything is fun and colorful, a detail she clearly brings into her home, which was featured in Elle Decoration in 2010. Her kitchen is delightful: it's tiny, but very cheery, with red cabinets and a fun blue-and-white checkered backsplash. See what a little well-placed color can do? More
Emily's cozy home is full of her own creative projects, and the shiplap wall in her dining room is one great example. As she tells Apartment Therapy, she loved the texture and interest that the paneling brought to her bedroom, so she "went wild" and also installed it in the dining room! She says "it's warm, easy to install, and an affordable way to dramatically transform a drab space into a primary accent wall." More
Karen and Guy of Design Vidal renovate and redo old homes and then stage them for selling. A recent Apartment Therapy House Tour got in on the ground level to watch the process unfold, and learned a little bit about updating vintage kitchens in the process.

The kitchen is often the most expensive room to remodel, so if you're on a budget, sometimes it takes a few months or years to do! That's what one Apartment Therapy writer experienced. She transformed her kitchen into her dream space, but she did it in her own time as she could afford it. It's not done yet, but as you can see in this photo, it's certainly looking pretty great! More
This Green Tour from 2011 is one of my all-time favorite tours on Apartment Therapy. The airy home, located on the top floor of a 19th century apartment building in West Berlin, has a wonderful selection of both period accent pieces and modern furnishings. But it's the kitchen that really makes me swoon. More
Lindsay Nakashima, the grandniece of famed Mid-Century Modern furniture maker George Nakashima, has a "simple and honest" approach to design in her home. Her understated, calming style is evident in the kitchen, which got a makeover (or rather, makeunder) to bring it into the soft, soothing style of the rest of the home.

Now this is a kitchen we imagine must see a lot of cooking! This warm and wonderful bungalow kitchen in Pasadena is full of personal touches: the built-in seating in the dining nook was constructed from the original kitchen's "California cooler" bread and dry goods drawers, while the open shelving houses Julia's extensive pottery and line collection, most of which came from her Grandmother.
