When I first saw this chandelier in the virtual pages of Lonny magazine, I chuckled at the side note describing it as "an audacious flourish." That's pretty much what this is: it's not just a chandelier (which we've seen in kitchens before); it's a chandelier in the shape of a large sailing boat, and it completely steals the show.

How charming is this teaspoon wallpaper? Designed by Studio Ditte, the wallpaper "tells a tale of elegant spoons, forks for posh cakes and old keys of forgotten rooms." When we reconfigured some of the cabinetry in our kitchen last year, we hit a bump in the road: a floor vent supplying heat to the kitchen was right where one of the base cabinets was supposed to be installed. We were really set on the cabinet layout, and we certainly didn't want to re-route a bunch of ductwork. I'm really digging this kitchen color combo. The dark olive green cabinets really work with the sky blue walls. A full-on olive kitchen would be too heavy and dark, but the blue serves to lighten the look just enough. It's a little retro feeling, but just modern enough. What do you think?
