Ladies and Gentlemen, our fifth annual Homies Awards will be kicking off in two weeks on Friday, February 1st, but before we get there, I want to do something totally new. I'd like to invite you to redesign the Homies logo. What I'm looking for is a brand new interpretation of the logo that I've been redrawing for the last few years. Want to make your mark? Go the design brief below...(Note: in an effort to be fair to all of our professional design readers, I've added some more info below).
We talked earlier this week about setting our own kitchen goals for 2013. We love to think of resolutions in the new year as opportunities to look forward to, not obligations to be tackled. By the end of this year I anticipate having made a habit of eating lots more vegetables, for instance. Maybe you're looking forward to learning to bake gluten-free bread. Or you would enjoy having a clean freezer, homemade cheese, or a garden. Maybe you'd love to fix that dripping faucet this week. What's your first kitchen goal or resolution of 2013?
We are inviting you, our readers, to share one short and sweet kitchen goal with us. Send us a photo and a quick description, and we'll publish all of them that we can next week! That way we can all help one another accomplish something fresh and new — maybe even before the week is out! Read on to submit your own goal... More

Because we're always trying to help and inspire people to do it for themselves, we sent out over a thousand holiday cards last week with the delicious Fox & Sparkler Cocktail Recipe (above and below). This holiday we want to thank you personally for being our readers all year. How? We're having a big dinner party for all of the Apartment Therapy and The Kitchn staff tonight and we are going to film it and share a big, live thank you by everyone at once. Why? Because we love you, and because we want you to meet the staff and know what it looks like here at our work. We also thought it would be cool to try and answer any questions you have about our blogs in the video. So, if you have a really good question for ANYONE at Apartment Therapy or The Kitchn, please put it and who it might be directed to (if anyone specific) in the comments below and then we'll add it to our short film. And get ready to see our big Thank You Film next week!

We're gearing up for fall around here, dreaming up new ideas and recipes. One thing we'd like to do a little more of is food for kids. We've noticed a big response from our readers in the past when we've talked about food for toddlers and tips for cooking with your kids, and of course cooking for little ones can be such an important part of cooking at home! So, if we do more with and for kids at The Kitchn, what would you like to see? This is your chance to tell us what would be most helpful and interesting to you. Recipes? Ideas? Encouragement? Product reviews? Snacks? Healthy desserts? Tips for getting kids, younger and older, into the kitchen? We'd love to hear from you! More
