Frozen Pie Crusts from Trader Joe's
• $3.99 for two pie crusts
• Trader Joe's
I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's frozen pie crusts. I've reviewed them before, but let me recap the reasons here: There's no sugar in the dough, so it's great for savory dishes like quiche as well as sweet ones like pie. They come in flat rounds of dough, instead of molded to an aluminum pie dish — less waste, and easier to fit to my own dish. And finally, they taste buttery and delicious, the way pie crust should. Halloween is one of the more perfect holidays. If you have young kids, you get to relive the fun of dressing up and trick-or-treating through their eyes. If you don't have kids, you have a really good excuse to buy mini candy bars for the whole month of October. And while those are wonderful, we love thinking about homemade treats to bring to work, keep around the house, and share with the neighborhood kids. More
Hold on to your napkins, everyone! Stella Parks has just revealed the sordid history of our favorite ultra-red and cream cheese-frosted dessert. Can you handle the truth? More
While insanely delicious, puff pastry is also quite possibly one of the most finicky and labor-intensive things that you can make in the kitchen. Especially when picking up a package of frozen puff pastry sheets at the store is so very easy. Is it really worth it to make it yourself? More
Q: I recently received a giant block of white chocolate, 15 pounds to be exact. So far I have made batches of peanut butter rice krispies with white chocolate and white brownies and given them away. These taste good, but I'm sure my family and friends are getting tired of these by now and I've run out of ideas. I'm looking for some recipes that use up a good amount of white chocolate, but are fairly simple and easy to make.

Honey Crème Lemon from Honey Ridge Farms
• $3.75 to $9.99
• Honey Ridge Farms
Honey Ridge Farms is a family business in Washington that produces some delicious honey products, including these creamed honeys. I mentioned their spiced creamed honey a couple years ago, and I just had to also show you this newer product: Lemon creamed honey. It's tangy and creamy, almost like lemon curd (but without the eggs and dairy). Amazingly good on toast!
Comes in jar sizes of 2.25 ounces to 12 ounces. More
Inspiration comes from surprising sources, and this one came from a Klondike Bar.
If you've turned on a TV recently, you've probably seen ads for their new brownie ice cream bar with....wait for it...fudge in the middle. I'm totally grabbing this idea and running with it.
Just think: what else could we hide in the middle of an ice cream sandwich? More
Cake mix sparks a lot of debate, it seems! On the one hand, it's fast, convenient, and reliable. But on the other hand, homemade isn't really that much fussier and it tastes a whole lot better. Or does it? More
