The art of the 3-ingredient cocktail is perhaps the best way for a budding home mixologist to get into the act. We love our complicated cocktails, infused and smoked and shaken within an inch of their icy little lives, but we leave them to the bar experts; the simplest drinks are the best ones to make with a limited home liquor cabinet, especially on a casual Friday night at home. These simple drinks include such classics as the Liberté Cocktail (Lillet Blanc, gin, and orange bitters), and the Gold Rush (bourbon, lemon, and honey). What about you? What's your favorite 3-ingredient tipple?
MoreTalk about summer living! This bicycle has been outfitted with a custom-fit box to stash a few bar basics. The box also doubles as a table, so you can have your own outdoor cocktail hour. Just pick a park, or a field, or the side of the road!

Love the cool, crisp flavor of a gin and tonic during cocktail hour? Lucky for us, there's no good reason that fragrant lime flavor has to be relegated to a cocktail shaker. Why not bring it on over to the dessert side of things?
It's Cocktail Week at The Kitchn, so we're going to be pushing nibbles and drinks on you all week, in one big happy hour. We'll have smart ideas for pitcher drinks and easy cocktails, little snacks to go with that drink (up first, savory scones!), and yes, plenty of non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic drinks that everyone can enjoy. What would you like to talk about this week? Any cocktail topics you're curious about or obsessed with at the moment? What's the best cocktail hour appetizer you've discovered lately?
MoreThe scenario: you don't drink alcohol, but you're having people over who do. What's a teetotaler to serve?

Somehow we survived the year without a dose of Don Draper, and just like a warm spring day, here comes the two-hour season 6 premiere of Mad Men just in time for our happy hour. For those of us who've been
patiently filling our Sunday nights with Downton Abbey, Girls, and Walking
Dead, it's time to break out your shakers and crack some ice. The guys and gals of Madison Ave are back to drink with us. Are you ready?
More importantly is your bar?
So many desserts, so little time! This week I have wanted every sweet that’s
been posted from the Lemon Blueberry Yogurt Cake to all the desserts made with ricotta and mascarpone. In turn, I have my own instant
boozy dessert — one that works just as well for when I’m hanging solo as it does at the end of
a dinner party. My hard and fast Rum Raisin
Ice Cream only calls for three simple ingredients. When combined, I guarantee
you they deliver pure culinary bliss.
My boyfriend and I make quite a few cocktails, often preferring our home bar to going out for over-priced and often marginal drinks at our neighborhood bar. We like experimenting and making up new seasonal drinks, so I find myself turning to three books in particular for constant inspiration. More
In my quest for the perfect Passover cocktail to share with you for today's 10-Minute Happy Hour, my first instinct was to phone a friend. Since she converted to Judaism as an adult, I thought she would forgive my ignorance and be able to give me the inside scoop on what a kosher cocktail might look like. Her hard and fast answer was, "We don't really drink cocktails. We just drink wine and champagne." Hmmm, I thought, that's a start.
MoreSpring officially arrives this week, and what better time for the release of Amy Stewart's delightful new book, The Drunken Botanist. As you're planning your garden, foraging for wild plants, or simply looking for a good cocktail recipe (and cocktail party conversation topics!), you don't want to miss this entertaining and illuminating guide to "the plants that create the world's great drinks."
