We first spotted this kitchen cabinet concept last year on Apartment Therapy, where it was submitted by a reader. Unfortunately, the current owner of this kitchen, Georgia, can't tell us very much about this industrial-school-locker-turned-kitchen-cabinet idea, as it was designed by the previous tenant. Is this not the coolest stand-alone pantry cabinet you've ever seen? I keep trying to think of another pantry cabinet that's as cool as this one. Thinking...thinking... nope. I've got nothin'. More
Rental kitchens are notorious for crummy cabinets, and there's little to be done if your landlord doesn't allow permanent changes. However, if you're artistically inclined, take a cue from set designer Jen Chu, featured in Apartment Therapy's Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces. She covered her kitchen cabinets in white contact paper, traced a stencil of a woodland scene, and then painstakingly carved it out with an X-acto knife. Amazing! See more photos below: More

So when I came across this cabinet that allows you to keep everything in your kitchen in one place, well just call me smitten. More
This kitchen was a little too honey colored for the homeowners, but working within a small budget, something had to change without too much expense. A little creativity, gold paint and some fabric later and the results are fabulous — all for $300! More
Kitchen cabinets can be expensive. Sometimes it pays to open your hunt to items that do the same thing without necessarily being labeled for the kitchen... They just might have a lower price tag even if they're higher in quality. For example, check out this kitchen that utilizes metal garage workbenches and shelving: More
Although most folks are trying to maximize their countertop space, giving them the largest work surface possible, this built in storage in Delafield, Wisconsin does the exact opposite. But by building in storage where countertops could have been they've actually maximized the kitchen's potential. More
The new year has brought with it two strong desires: To save money (the post-holiday financial situation is dire!) and to start fresh. Inspired by necessity, I've decided not to buy any groceries except produce until I've cooked my way through my stash of staples. More
