Description: Tahir Mahmood's Mortar & Pestles are made of dalbergia sissoo wood (native to the Indian Subcontinent, often referred to as "Indian Rosewood") and are shaped using the ancient technique of lathe turning.
Inspired by the Punjabi agricultural calendar, the collection of eleven designs is handmade by artisans in Tahir's studio in Lahore, Pakistan. Vibrant colors are created with a sap-based resin and applied with palm leaves. A successful graphic designer, new media artist and product designer, Tahir's work has been featured in numerous publications including I.D. Magazine, Canadian House & Home and the National Post.
