I just bought some macadamia nuts to make some energy balls (I'm trying to copy all the cliff bar favours) and was astonished at how expensive they were - $13 for just over a cup! Anyone know why they're so pricey?

I don't mean to be rude or picky, but as a Cajun I feel the need to point out that that is not gumbo. Gumbo is a soup. That is more of a stew.

I believe that macadamia nuts are so expensive because they are difficult to shell and process
