Q: I've been hearing good things about boxed wines lately. My research suggests boxed stays fresher a little longer since there is no air touching the wine as it would in a traditional bottled wine. Can you recommend a good boxed wine to try?

Black Box is my favorite- particularly the pinot noir
Patch Block Merlot
bota box!
I've had Le Faux Frog Pinot Noir in a box and enjoyed it. I've also had a box of Jack Tone California Red that was a decent mix of Syrah and Petite Syrah, but a little on the light side for those grapes.
I've heard Franzia is excellent quality and won't give you a hangover under any circumstance. So drink up! The entire box. I challenge you. :)
There is no such thing :D
I have bought Pinot Evil Pinot Noir a few times, in bottles and boxes. Depending on my mood I find it to be anywhere from wonderful to perfectly acceptable.
I've read good reviews of the Conte Ferdinando Guicciardini red wine, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Any chance anyone here has tried it?
Franzia Chillable Red is a staple of our family get-togethers. It's slightly sweet and not too acidic and is a lovely red that actually tastes good cold. I'm no wine expert, and actually I'm not generally a fan of red wines (except for the sweet ones), but this one is rather good. My mom often keeps a box in the fridge (with the little spigot hanging over the edge of the shelf) and has a small glass (we're talking 6 or fewer ounces) with dinner every other night or so. Dad, too. If you've got a lot of people with different tastes (and no wine snobs), it's generally a crowd-pleaser.
Black Box wines are what the fancy patisserie I used to work at served.
Where do I find these?!
Big House or Bota!
I third black box!
Black Box is always good. I also was surprising pleased by Box of Red from trader Joe's. It is a shiriaz. I've yet to tried the Box of White.
Silver Birch Sauvignon Blanc. Black Box as a second choice.
Bota Box, which is not only delicious wine, but comes in a sensibly-sized and -shaped box that doesn't take up all the space in your fridge/on your counter.
I second Bota Box. The larger sized one comes in at a little under $20 and it's four bottles of wine in one compact container. It's perfect.
Pinot Evil and Big House Red are the ones for me
The Climber Pouch - less waste, great price, and it's perfect for picnics! http://climberpouch.com/
Pinot Evil and Big House Red - easy to find at any grocery store.
Another vote for Big House Red! It's our "emergency" wine... and it's what we take to the park.
I much prefer Bota Box to Black Box, though Black Box is still on an entirely different level than Franzia. ha ha
I thought Bota Box was pretty decent: http://wp.me/p1xVI5-Tl
Thanks for all of these great suggestions everyone! I just purchased a bagged wine from Trader Joe's. Eco Vino Chardonnay. Seems like a great idea for summer picnics and things! http://www.mamamaryshow.com/2011/07/bag-wine-is-the-new-black-and-a-summer-must-have/
