We've said good-bye to Jenny, our long-standing wine writer and it's time to find a new voice. I was thinking of all the people I know who drink wine and write. Well, that's almost everyone I know. But who drinks wine really well and writes really well, and maybe even writes about the wine they drink really well.
Jay McInerney. If you haven't read any of his wine writing, I urge you to pick up a copy of Bacchus & Me or Hedonist in the Cellar. I have never been so entertained and educated simultaneously, on any subject.
We're huge fans of his and since House & Garden folded, we're wondering if he's looking for a job.
Jay, are you out there?
This gig is pretty great: you write once a week about a bottle of wine you've had and tell us about it in colorful language. Pieces are short: no more than 200 or 250 words. No hounding editors, no months-ahead deadlines.
OK, so Jay probably has other things keeping him busy. Anyone else ready to step up to grape and make a name in online wine literature?
