Before starting an indulgent sweet course for brunch, such as Honey Lavendar French Toast or oat pancakes, I love to serve a small bit of grilled vegetables and cheese.
During the summer, it's easy to grill a few seasonal vegetables such as squash or peppers and to brush a little oil onto a slice of Haloumi cheese. Everyone will appreciate this gesture, not just the vegetarians at your table. When the weather is too cold for the bbq, I find roasting a tray of carrots or brussel sprouts equally nice. Eating in courses spaces out the meal and creates more time for conversation and relaxation.
Do you serve an appetizer with your brunch?
If so, what do you serve?
