Brown Bag Gadget: Boon Snack Ball

Are you putting your lunch together for your workday tomorrow? We like to eat snacky lunches - little bags of rice crackers, grapes, cheese chunks, and other bitesize nuggets. And we just decided that we want to completely ditch our plastic baggies for these snack ball containers.

These little snack balls were actually designed for toddlers, but this is one good idea we'd like to cradle snatch. It's rigid, so your snacks won't get crushed in the bottom of your briefcase, but it's not too big - just enough for an afternoon snack.

What do you use to take your snacks and lunch to work? Any other creative ideas?

Snacks to take to work:
• Apple chips
• Persimmon and cinnamon chips
• Peanut butter popcorn
• Sweet and salty cinnamon almonds
• Roasted pumpkin seeds

I love this idea! I'm always packing the plastic bags (I do try to recycle though) and this would be a nice change for my sunflower seeds, grapes, etc.

Ha. It reminds me of giving your dog a toy with a few treats stuck inside to keep them busy for a few hours. This would keep me busy for awhile, too.

*squint* Does anyone else think that the opening looks a bit too small for adult hands? If I'm snacking, it's usually done while working on a computer (i.e. want to snack with one hand), so I don't want to have to pick up the container and pour the contents out.

i use the snack size ziploc bags. i hate it because I always get crackers and stuff crushed when I pull it out to eat later in class. This is nice idea since I hate having to throw away baggies (usually I will wash them and turn them inside out to dry them.)

Why not just use a small tupperware container for snacks? It's a lot more versatile (and practical) than this ball or a ziploc bag.

I think I saw those at Babies 'R Us.
