Blue-tinted White Mischief seasoning rub? Food Bling powder with edible gold flakes
? Grappa-flavored Angel Mist spray? We hardly know whether to sprinkle this over our food or apply it like eye-shadow. But we're intrigued. This is the first we’ve heard of Laura Santtini, but over in the UK, she’s a rising star in the food celebrity scene. She’s a food writer and chef with the mission of bringing a bit of magic and whimsy to the kitchen.
If this line of rubs and spices is any indication, we’d say job well done! The packaging alone makes us want to pick the jars off the shelf, unscrew the lids, and start mixing up some new culinary concoctions. Maybe we’ll dig out a wizard’s hat while we’re at it.
The imaginative rubs include heady ingredients like jasmine green tea, grains of paradise, and myrtle leaf. There’s an umami paste made from every umami-rich ingredient under the sun, and the Food Bling metallic powders would be so much fun for adding color and sparkle to a dessert.
It looks like these products are currently only available in the UK and France, but we heard a rumor that they could start appearing in the US this fall. Keep your eyes peeled!
Have any of our international readers had a chance to try these? Does their quality live up to the hype?
