Renovating a home is always a huge project to take on and even more so when you have a newborn baby and then another newborn baby! Brenda and Harry are great friends of Janel, editor over at Apartment Therapy, and she was kind enough to share their home with everyone — a home which just happens to include a fantastic contemporary white kitchen.
Their contemporary kitchen honestly had me at Carrera Marble countertops and then I realized all the more delicious aspects that had me drooling with envy. The white aluminum cabinets are an interesting addition because they're super contemporary and are sans toe kicks! The cement flooring fits in with the gray and white contemporary theme perfectly and I appreciate that the wide plank flooring is somewhat intruding on the kitchen space.
Subway tile is used as a mini splash along the wall with the sink and window and then explodes onto the entire wall with the stove. To break up the large use of white they used a stainless steel hood and range that really stands out in the space. They also used a few reclaimed wood shelves on each side of the window that mimic the wide plank flooring from the rest of the home. Their space is extremely homey without losing sight of their keen sense of design.

Red-and-Pink-Stripe...

I'm a big fan of displaying plates and bowls on visible shelves as opposed to keeping them in a closed cabinet. It can add a lot of color to your kitchen.
I really like the pendant lights in the kitchen, any ideas where those are from? Or anything similar available in the UK?
That's a nice and clean kitchen. Iike the way it's not too overwhelming in size and style.
