Julia Child did it in blue. And just as her blue pegboard storage inspires kitchens today, we're turning to her again to inspire bookshelves in the kitchen. Here are a few other examples we love:
The first pic up top is from Julia Child's kitchen. We love how it's packed and well-used. This is one bookshelf that's not just for show (though it does look wonderful). For more on this, see a roundup of more kitchen bookshelves over at Apartment Therapy.

Elizabeth Apron fro...

I'm planning this when I do my kitchen renovation. Just a little space for the 10 books I use the most.
I would love to have one...If and/when I get a bigger house and/or renovate...
We actually just moved our cookbooks out of the kitchen. We had them there for years, but there was really only one good place that was safe from the grease of the stove and we decided to use that for food storage. Now they're in the living room and we actually look at them more. We're far more likely to pick one up just to browse while we relax on the couch, whereas we used to only use them if we had a specific recipe in mind. I do miss how nice they looked on my kitchen shelf, though.
My husband very kindly built me a big bookcase to hold cookbooks and bowls and to hide the side of the big black refrigerator. I love it.
I don't have space for a bookshelf in the kitchen, so I keep by cookboks and food-related books on the bar/counter against the narrow piece of wall. I just something like a bookend to hold them up. They do look nice there and they're actually out of any grease's way.
I have a low little bookshelf my future father-in-law built that sits under a window by the back door (and really, main entrance to our house) which opens into the kitchen. It's a little awkward to access, but it's only two shelves (three if you count the top, which I do), and it not only fits the space perfectly, it also forces me to keep my collection pretty well pared down. :D
Does anybody have any ideas where I can find more photos of the 3rd kitchen? There are no more at the original site and i'm totally in love with it.
I love the one with the books organized by color. WIN!
There is no room in our kitchen for bookshelves (we have LOTS of windows and two doors, so not much wall space). My cookbooks are in the tv room and in the dining room--both close to the kitchen. I think I look at them more this way; I often browse through a cookbook while watching tv.
You know what I did to make room for a bookshelf in my apartment galley kitchen? I bought one of those bathroom etageries from Target and put it over my smartHuman trash can. The bottom is JUST tall enough to allow for the trashcan lid to raise up.
Recently I added some books in my kitchen ,all the pics are so inspiring
I JUST hung wine crates in a haphazard pattern above the arch between my kitchen and dining room and filled them with cookbooks and knickknacks. LOVE the look. I used titanium corner brackets to reinforce the joints between the sides, and the back-top and back-bottom, and drilled holes and hung with (AMAZING) Gorilla Hooks (as seen on TV, crazy little hooks that only leave a tiny hole in your wall but hold super heavy stuff on to drywall). Loving the look!
