I thought it would never happen: I have copies of my book in hand. It's such a thrill. The cover is embossed! I can hardly stand it!
For those of you who have been reading for some months, you might recall that last year I was writing a cookbook based on the story of the Greyston Bakery and the Greyston Foundation in Yonkers, NY. The bakery opened twenty-five years ago by employing a few local people who needed jobs and has since spawned an amazing non-profit that serves those in need of housing, child-care, and HIV/AIDS care. Meanwhile, down at the Bakery, they now employ dozens from the community, and they make a mean brownie.
If that isn't enough to get you to buy the book, perhaps knowing that profits go directly to Greyston to support the wonderful work they do.
The book will be available May 1st where great books are sold, here are a few:
• Amazon
• Powells
• Barnes & Noble
To all Book Journal entries - which incidentally is far fewer than I'd hoped there would be, but I ended up being so busy writing the book, that I didn't have time to blog it!
