Boil Buoy: A Gadget for an Unwatched Pot

Do you need a gadget to let you know when your water is boiling? This seems just slightly excessive to us, but perhaps it would be good for distractible cooks? Take a peek at this Boil Buoy from Quirky.

Pin it button big

This little buoy has a chime inside that rings when the water comes to a full boil, letting you concentrate on other things. This reminds us of those little discs you can put in pots of milk; they rattle when the milk is about to boil and froth over the top of the pan.

What do you think? Do you need a Boil Buoy? Or is this just silly?
