We used to think of Bodum as a good source for French presses, teapots, and not much else, but in the past few years we've been impressed by their expanding line of glassware and kitchen gadgets.
The company was founded in 1944 by a Dane named Peter Bodum. It remains a family-owned business today, with Peter's daughter Pia and son Jørgen as its current owners. The company's first big transition occurred in the 70s, when Jørgen relocated Bodum's headquarters from Copenhagen to Switzerland and began a major expansion campaign, opening shops across the US, Japan, Europe, and Australia.
The French Press was their first big product launch under Jørgen's direction, and the company used it to market their modern, functional aesthetic. It was so successful that for a long time it was really the only thing we associated with Bodum's product line. But since the launch of that first French press, they've been slowly and steadily building their collections, adding small kitchen electrics, textiles, cookware, glassware, and storage goods.
Most lines are very affordable, although we've noticed that prices have risen slightly over the last few years as designs become a little more sophisticated. For instance, Maxwell really loves their double-walled glass mugs, a line which they've been slowly improving. At $30 for a pair, they're not cheap, but they're also not astronomically priced.
Bodum products can be purchased through one of their 20 worldwide shops, their online store (where they have a sale outlet) or through major retailers like Crate & Barrel, Target, and Amazon.com.
They used to have a flagship store in Manhattan, but have since closed it and focused instead on e-commerce and placing their products with major American retailers.

I have their acrylic iced tea pitcher-- it has a removable insert that is great for holding tea bags, large tea leaves, lemon slices, etc. while brewing the tea. It's not the most groundbreaking design, but I enjoy it (and got it on clearance at World Market!).
Also, I recently "splurged" on one of the double-walled glass mugs. I was a little concerned about breaking it (there are some pretty concerning reviews on Amazon) but I'm a pretty careful person, so it's going strong even with daily use. It is really a fantastic insulator, and is so pretty!
I've always loved the aesthetics of their pieces. And the fact that you can find them at Target means its meant for the masses!
I had a french press all through college and it worked beautifully. Years later, bought another one. And the glass carafe broke almost immediately. Bought a replacement glass carafe, and that one broke (they broke during normal handwashing). I ended up buying the stainless steel press, which has worked out great.
As much as I love the double glass walls of their tumblers, they are way too fragile for my dogs. When they fall and break, it's like an explosion of glass. We were picking glass off the floor for months.
It's the same for my fav pyrex baking dish I had. The husband put it in the sink after cooking it in and ran cold water. That thing messed up our garbage disposal but good.
I'm too cheap to have pretty things that break.
All right! The Nissen pepper grinder is pretty great too.
I second what Stuccolow says, the tumblers shatter into the tiniest pieces, our cats broke most of ours.
Not mentioned above are Bodum's stackable tumblers! They have double-walls and an edge that asserts functionality (not being so round fits better in the hand and less slip)- and I like their contemporary look.

my friend has the stainless french press and I love it but could not afford the price tag so I bought the cheaper version from ikea.
we have the double walled glasses and I love their insulating properties but they are so fragile that my husband won't even touch them anymore. we have about half left from our wedding registry.
I bought four double-wall glasses and two of them allowed the soapy dish water inside the double wall. Never again did they look clean. I returned them after the first and only use.
I have the best manual milk frother and "Chocolatier" from Bodum by way of World Market. Both of them are marvelous, the frother can be used on tea/cider as well, and the "Chocolatier" makes the best cocoa on the planet!
I have all my barware from there and love it. The double-walled glasses look really beautiful and they serve a purpose too - While holding your drink, you aren't warming it up!
Cool bodum coffee cup design. i like such thing and enjoy reading kitchenwares and appliances review too, i also recommend http://www.kitchen-stuff.co.cc where complete kitchenwares can be found.
