Bittersweet Baking Contest: The Prizes

We are excited about our first ever baking contest - Bittersweet Baking - and we're excited about the prizes too! Drumroll please....

First Place - First Place Winner, the one that our judges decide is the best bittersweet baked dessert, will receive this Breville Die Cast Espresso Machine.

It's nearly 25 pounds of sheer espresso-making power. Inspired by high-end Italian espresso machines, this is a sleek yet accessible espresso machine for the home.

For more on the first place prize, plus the prizes for the two runners up read on...

This espresso machine also has a full 4.5 inch clearance, designed to accommodate larger cups and travel mugs, making it ideal not just for espresso, but for espresso variations like Americano, cappuccino and latte.

It comes with a tamping tool/measuring spoon, cleaning tool and stainless steel frothing pitcher.

The first-place winner will also receive a package of tools and goodies for making great coffee at home, as well as for baking and chocolate appreciation.

Two runners up - Two runners up, chosen by our guest judges, will each receive this Cuisinart Cup-O-Matic Coffeemaker, a single-serve coffeemaker that has a huge advantage over the pod coffeemakers that have become so popular. With this one you can use coffee pods AND/OR your own fresh ground coffee (much superior in our opinion).

You can also control coffee intensity and choose a 4 to 12-ounce cup size depending on your coffee need. The water reservoir - complete with water filter - has a 60-ounce capacity so a quick cup is never far away. This can even work for large dinner parties; with that amount and speed you can whip up coffee for several guests quickly, and even make regular or decaf variants for guests who request it.

The two runners up will also receive a package of tools and goodies, similar to the first-place winner, of tools and goodies to help brew great coffee, enjoy good chocolate, and bake bittersweet desserts at home.

So - what are you waiting for? Enter our ! Entries are due Tuesday.
