With summer comes the blenders in the world start to find a permanent home on our counter tops. That isn't to say we don't use them from time to time during the off season, but where there's sun there's blended drinks, smoothies, salsa and more. Recently Consumer Reports put 40 blenders to the test and topping the list is our personal favorite, but the runner up, is surprisingly affordable! When Consumer Reports set out to test 40 blenders to give you the low down, they took their job seriously. They tested each one on how well it made drinks, crushed ice, grated cheese and pureed. Their outcomes revealed winners and more than a few duds which couldn't even crush ice and resulted in burnt out motors and broken blades.
We've featured the top 5 below and although our beloved Vitamix still comes out on top (swoon!) the second place winner was a small shock to us with a $40 Oster. So if the pricier first place option isn't sitting well with your pocketbook, one of the runners up should suffice!
Although Consumer Reports would like you to pay to see the full list, we're really only interested in which options topped the list instead of those whose performance just isn't up to snuff. Below are a few top performing models and brands, make sure to tell us your experience with them below!
