Whit's Amuse Bouche is filled it all - of course delicious and inventive recipes, DIY projects to make your house look wonderful, but it's so much more than that. Whit, with each entry written, spreads life, laughter, and love...and a little bit of herself, too!

Whit's Amuse Bouche always makes me smile - and inspires me to get in the kitchen!
Yummy Books for sure.
Whit's Amuse Bouche for fun and great food.
The concept of YUMMY BOOKS, a recipe blog combined with beautifully written essays on the use of food in novels as Matilda, Moby Dick and The Book of Ruth ( to name a few) is unlike any food blog I have come across. Yummy Books revives what is so frequently overlooked in our fast- food, fast- paced culture of convenience: the inherent ability of food, portrayed through history, tradition and literature, to nourish us mind, body and soul.
No one manages meld health and taste together like Munchin with Munchkin! And in such an eye-appealing way! A gifted photographer, a creative genius in and outside of the kitchen, and a phenomenal cook, my vote is for Munchin with Munchkin :)
The Breakfast Bachelor brings a unique voice to the recipe blog table with honest, daring posts, beautiful photography, and wildly entertaining videos. He is a Brooklyn romantic through and through and certainly on the rise ...
Yummy Books is my favorite blog by far. So glad it is finally getting the recognition it deserves! Keep up the fine writing and photography!
Nothing tops Cocoa and Lavender for exceptional narrative, choice of recipes, and dazzling photography.

My whole family will eat her recipes, and in the past 6 weeks from choosing dinners from her variety of meals my husband and I have lost 20 pounds together!!! SkinnyTaste.com should be on this list! Only one I will vote for! Recently found this site and the recipes are amazing and healthy. She lists ALL nutritional info for each recipe and, being a new Weight Watcher, this is so helpful! Fabulous recipes for the whole family! Desserts, Main Meals, Soups, Salads, Picky-Picks! Great pictures, too!

Skinnytaste.com because Gina is my hero!
skinnytaste.com because every recipe on Gina's site ROCK!!!!
www.skinnytaste.com should be on the list! My family loves her recipes! I don't even do weight watchers, but it's so nice to have a resource for healthy recipes that taste great. She also does amazing pictures of all of her recipes, and her site is organized wonderfully!
I love love love "Spoon Fork Bacon"!! Great recipes and presented in a beautiful down to earth way! LOVE!

I'll nominate Muy Bueno cook book - great site, awesome pictures, fantastic recipes... what more is there to say.
lola cooks is the greatestttttt one everrrrrrrrrrrrr....ever
What's this I hear that last year's winners can't participate this year? What kind of rigged contest is this? Can you imagine if the Academy/Emmy/Grammy/Tony awards did that? It's not a true competition.
Since www.skinnytaste.com can't compete, I won't be voting.
I nominate The Fromagette. http://thefromagette.com/blog/ Gorgeous, accessible dishes and recipes - lightened up a bit - and Rachel is just such an authentic voice. An epicurean provocateur, indeed!
I love skinnytaste.com! Everything we've made from Gina's recipes has been so amazing! She makes eating healthier fun and exciting with her fantastic recipes!!
She cooks up wonderful delights for her loved ones, painstakingly and so diligently. Every morning is a savory journey with her...wishing her the very best....http://www.panfusine.com/
Definitely Skinnytaste.com - the website I use the most for recipes!
http://wutheringbites.wordpress.com/ is a lovely gluten free recipe blog!
Yummybooks is a pure work of writing genius and single minded dedication to the simple pleasures of eating and reading. It appears to be the only blog in the top 5 right now that does not have corporate sponsors. For example: Pioneer Woman was already the subject of an article in the New Yorker and makes millions through her sponsors- come on! Yummybooks needs to be brought into the forefront of food writing blogs! I hope that with my vote I am bringing it closer to the recognition it deserves. Go Yummybooks!!
I would like to nominate Tadka Pasta. The "Two Indian foodies steeped in kitchen poetry" are not only amazing with their recipes, they are extraordinary with their words. Simple, honest, unique recipe ideas, especially the Funnibbles category..their repertoire is amazing and I love trying out their recipes at home. Never failed me. Go Tadka Pasta girls!
http://tadkapasta.wordpress.com
I want to nominate Tadka Pasta. The "Two Indian foodies steeped in kitchen poetry" are a pleasure to read as well as try out. You can taste their food just by reading their blog!
http://tadkapasta.wordpress.com
I would also like to nominate Tadka Pasta, as far as I am concerned, the best food site to ever cross my horizons. When it comes to cooking, the easier it is to prepare the better it is for me. Tadka Pasta's recipes are steeped in epicurean excellence. I agree with the commenter before me about their amazing repertoire. These girls have what it takes and more! Go Tadka Pasta!
I just nominated Tadka Pasta too! A fantastic treat it is - appealing and appetizing.
I nominate Muy Bueno cook book! First of all, in addition to beautiful photography and easy to follow instructions, I have personally tasted nearly every dish; the pictures do not do the food justice... the food is phenomenal!!
I just nominated Skinnytaste.com. Gina is the best! Healthy and great recipes! Absolutely love her site. Use it all the time. I think I have printed off enough recipes to create myself a home cookbook just of her stuff. We love you Gina! It's a site I go to DAILY. I actually will go to her site to search for recipes for somthing that I want to cook. Went there today to find chicken enchilada's since a I bought a deli chickin on sale the other day and I KNEW she would have what I wanted.
I nominate Kate King at Scarpettta Dolcetto:
http://scarpettadolcetto.wordpress.com/
I love her writing, the pictures make me hungry and many of her recipes are just want I need to get me inspired after a long day working!
I would like to nominate my blog, The Midlife Second Wife. My recipe section, "Food for Thought," includes not only recipes handed down to me by members of my family, but also favorite recipes I've collected over the years. I'm honored to have received permissions from such chefs and cookbook authors as Tom Valenti, Barbara Kafka, and the Casserole Queens. I photograph what I cook, and try—as often as possible—to include step-by-step photos. Each recipe begins with a story about why the food I'm featuring is important to me. Highlights include my former mother-in-law's recipe for chicken paprikas, my godmother's recipe for Italian Wedding Soup, and my grandmother's recipe for breaded eggplant. An index to all of the recipes can be found near the header of my blog. Please visit http://themidlifesecondwife.com/. And enjoy!
Smittenkitchen.com~~
I'd like to nominate my blog, Confessions of a Culinary Diva. It is a labor of love, and my 40th birthday present to myself. I've always been passionate about food and cooking and in May 2011 decided it was time to do something about it. It features stories about the food we are cooking at home. Some recipes are from cookbooks and give the authors and books acknowledgements, others are inspired restaurant meals we've had, and then there are originals from our own creativity. It also includes cocktails and wine recommendations. Confessions of a Culinary Diva also features two cooking groups - French Fridays with Dorie and Baking with Julia, which have been one of the most inspirational group I've known.
http://confessionsofaculinarydiva.blogspot.com
I nominate Confessions of a Culinary Diva. It is beautifully written and each week transports you to a different world through wonderful food and drink.

The Cheesemonger and the eternally witty Nora Singley
I don't think everyone understands how the nominating works - praising and recommending a blog in your comments isn't enough. At the bottom of the above list, you click on "nominate a blog" (in orange) and fill in the blanks that appear (till Friday, anyhow!)

Muy Bueno has the most amazing Mexican food recipes, and you can't get any more authentic than 3 generations of family dishes! They cover everything from appetizers to desserts (and let's not forget the amazing drinks)! And the photos of their dishes are incredible...makes my mouth water just thinking about it. For anyone who hasn't seen their website, go to www.muybuenocookbook.com. I promise you won't regret it!
I've tried to nominate a blog but it doesn't seem to be appearing, how do I find out why not? :S
I voted for howtocookthat.net because I love the brownie food fight video
I voted for howtocookthat.net too!!
YUMMY BOOKS!!! This young lady deserves the recognition above everyone. She takes all the photos herself and creates her own recipes! ThursdayNightSmackdown
Week of menus!
Wuthtering Bites For The Win. Best new blog out there!
Where, oh where, is Smitten Kitchen in all of this? My very favorite food blogger, source of many of our yummiest meals, and Deb isn't on the top of the list? Well, I just nominated her, and them discovered someone else nominated her last night. Well, that's a relief! I hope everyone who hasn't yet discovered her wonderful blog and terrific recipes will now do so - and vote for her - and eat spectacular meals!
I vote for Wuthering Bites ! Cake, cats and kate. Go Go Go Sarah.
@eisenbug Deb has won before, so is not eligible this time round - see the rules on the main Homies page. I agree, though, if she hadn't been a previous winner, she should have been top of the list.

Great recipes, brilliant writing and stunning photography. Lindsey's blog is a must follow.
to everyone who keeps talking about smittenkitchen, she won in 2008, she can't be nominated again. and why don't you all take a look at the little guys, the people without corporate sponsoring who are doing this just because they love it and not to make money?
Muy Bueno is the best!!!!!
Has anyone read a new blog called Apron & Heels? I didn't notice it until I made the spinach and orgy dip..most delicious dip EVER..... but the recipes are written in a naughty way--it's actually pretty hilarious. I was cooking and laughing, which is a nice change from cringing since I'm scared of messing up the dish!!!!
www.apronandheels.com
Can I nominate my own blog? It's called Out of the Ordinary. Extraordinary food from an ordinary kitchen! Imaginative vegetarian food made from ingredients everybody has. And a song for each recipe!
Hmmm, I just voted for Brookly Supper, but the tally did not change from 21 to 22. Can someone please check this? It's a great blog and I want to make sure that the tally shows it!
Thanks
I vote for Yummy Books!
Cooking, Rationally is on the list twice - can that be changed, or can the votes be combined or something, because it's that same web address twice?

Pioneer Woman Cooks!
Oh, duh, someone already pointed this out :)
This Mommy Cooks is hands down THE BEST!
Her step-by-step instructions with pictures really helps me! :)
I love the Muy Bueno Cookbook! She beautifully ties together Mexican food and its family gathering role in Mexican culture. She's inspired me to open up my home, gather my friends and family, and wow them with such tantalizing Mexican cuisine! Best of all, the recipes are easy to follow and such crowd pleasers. This is what authentic Mexican food is all about with a modern twist.
Yummy books, show us the meaning of haste.
Its so great to be among so many of my favourite blogs! I'm a relatively new blogger and my blog www.magpiesrecipes.blogspot.com is not very well known. I would love if you visited me and let me know what you think :)
I'm an Anglo Italian/jew and cannot get enough of their recipes; Traditional but creative. I'm actually inspired, and may teach myself some of these great recipes and surprise my Latina wife one evening after work! It's just that, it’s a long way from my lounge chair where I repose in comfort perusing my copy of Muy Bueno Cookbook, and the kitchen where one is typically prone to sweating and cursing the fates for not having the right ingredients on hand and/or proper cookware available. Maybe it's only a dream, but a darned good one. One day this phoenix will rise! Muy Bueno Cookbook rocks!!!
Muy Bueno Cookbook you are the best...best recipes, best photos and the cutest kids on the planet.....Sharron from Canyon Country
My vote goes to Closet Cooking. Excellent recipes that are easy to follow and unfailingly DELICIOUS. Kevin seems like a very nice person who takes time to respond to his followers whenever he can.
i just voted for 'How to Cook That' ... probably the best thing to come out of Australia since Hugh Jackman!
Would like to nominate http://www.myfudo.com for their Tasily Touring cat where they explore foods from every country on earth and tackle the task by going alphabetically through a list found on a fantastic website called One World-Nations that will take them 260 weeks! Love their photography tips too.
Where is smitten kitchen??????
My vote is definitely Muy Bueno! I have yet to find anywhere that I can find a real or even a good Mexican recipe, much less a Tex-Mex one. Don't get me wrong, I know that Rick Bayless is awesome, & I even like Bobby Flay. But Muy Bueno is the best ever! I can't wait to see & make more of their recipes!
I vote for Closet Cooking...www.closetcooking.com A truly innovative cook lives here!
Ooooooooooooooooh, Congratulations for the nomination, Kevin from Closet Cooking...www.closetcooking.com. He has so many great recipes and ideas!

Food in Jars!
Rooting for myfudo,.com
I nominate Red Carpet Cooking http://ptbcooking.blogspot.com
I nominate Food in Jars. Com.
The site has inspired me to do more than put food in jars as I already do that. My kitchen is full of jars, big and small, old and new but mostly recycled. Tupperware and it's plastic relatives have been banished. Now I am finally going to make the leap to preserving and know clearly what I am doing thanks to the clarity, dedication, wisdom and humor of Marisa McClellan. Amazing. Reading her blog is a joy.
How to Cook that ...
Lego man biscuits, Thomas the Tank Engine cakes & Lego Ninjago Cakes ... paradise for boys parties!!
Did someone say Lego Ninjago Cakes ... ok, I also nominate "How to Cook That"

Closet Cooking is my vote, trying new things and wonderful food.
I nominate ClareFare.
Sharing a good recipe is not enough. I want stories and love! Clare delivers all from her kitchen overlooking the James River in Virginia. Influenced by her Czech father and time in England, Clare shares wonderful stories full of family, friends, and adventure. Clare makes me want to run to my kitchen, fling open the doors, and invite the world.

I'm so inspired by munchin with munchkin. Great recipes, funny stories, gorgeous photography all put together with great design.
Food in Jars has led me on a variety of canning adventures in the past year. I check it obsessively
My favorite quirky food blog is Danish Open Sandwiches
http://www.danishsandwich.com/
But I guess it could;t make this list because it is published so irregularly.
Deliciously Organic!!! Carrie has brilliant ideas and does a great job sharing important information.
I I vote for The Kitchen Front. Everything is delicious and doable. Minimum fuss; maximum pleasure.
I vote for Two Lazy Gourmets with all my stomach!
Cheap Beats is the bomb! Great chit-chat, helpful photos, realistic recipes. Molly's veggie based recipes are healthful. To paraphase Michael Polan, if it comes from a plant- eat it; if it is made in a plant- avoid it. Most of us have no idea how to cook in a healthy fashion and we are afraid of the concept. Molly's blog is a great place to start.
Voting for myfudo! Best of luck you guys.
I voted for us and a few others, wishing everyone the best of luck!
I do NOT see the blog i nominated. LIVE LAUGH EAT http://www.livelaugheat.com/
is there a reason why its not part of the list?
I nominate The Colors of Indian Cooking
My vote goes to MyFudo! <3
-Shan
I vote for Thursday Night Smackdown!
I would like to vote for Food For Friends. http://em-nicholsononblogspot.com
My friend Emma is always willing to offer fantastic recipes, including some of her family favourites. She has a mixture of interesting Muilticultural quisine, with great photos to match.
Feast On The Cheap! It is like having your best friend teaching you how to create wonderful food in the kitchen. Simplified!
I am sick of the Homies. Vote, decide and move on. I read this blog every day and I am tired of having to scroll past it on every page.
I'm not sure why it isn't letting me vote for yummy books. I click vote and the page just doesn't load. pretty cheap. yummy books deserves to win it all. that girl has skill- she can do it all. no one knows how much strength and knowledge it takes to butcher a pig. this girl deserves to make history. well behaved women don't make history. women who make beet salads don't either. come on everyone, let the realest chef win.
whose scamming this. it won't let me vote for yummybooks.
Some great blogs here but no Big Fat Daddy's BBQ I have to say I'm a grill freak.
Why is Pioneer Woman in this contest? She has already MAJOR publicity: i'm talking the NewYorker, and has million dollar sponsorships. How about voting for the starving artist, baker, butcher, writer and photographer known as Yummybooks!!
Holy Cow! I had no CLUE there were so many (quality) food blogs out there. Way to go internet! I'm going to check every one out before I vote, so I'll be back in a couple years.
:)
I agree with Yummy Mommy. It is not right that Pioneer Woman is even on this list. Its like having Angelina Jolie try out for your local community theatre production. She's already MADE IT! She has ALREADY been recognized and I do not believe that she is really getting all these votes. It's really upsetting. Yummy Books is without a doubt the best blog and this writer does everything herself. Please tell your friends to vote for Yummy Books!
I agree!! And you know what? Yummybooks is doing something really unique that not only takes skill but real intelligence!!
I am really disappointed that Pioneer woman is getting so many votes.
Thanks for this list, through which I've discovered Nom Nom Paleo. I don't follow the paleo diet, but the recipes look delicious, and easy to make, and the food photography is good.
I've just checked out Yummy books too to see what all the fuss is about, and, yes, it's different, well written, and beautifully photographed. She gets my vote!
Two Lazy Gourmets rule- the best homemade crackers and spreads, oh my!
