Best Movie Kitchens: Speed Racer's Futuristic Mid-Century

Whoa. After Janel at AT:Chicago raved about the interior design in Speed Racer we had to go take a look at the set's "futuristic mid-century" kitchen. Take a look at what we found...

Wow - we don't know whether we're in a bad 70s flashback or brilliant over-the-top designland. The colors really pop!!

The set and all art direction were by Owen Paterson, who also art directed on the Wachowski brothers' Matrix films.

The colors are really gorgeous, even if they are a little bright for our own personal tastes. We were reminded of this favorite kitchen spotlight from a couple months ago:

We wish we could find more photos and stills from the set of this fabulous Speed Racer kitchen. If you know of others tell us. Did you see the movie and if so, did you find personal inspiration in the design?

Also, do you have other favorite movie kitchens?
