It's Cocktail Week, and a couple days ago we showed you a roundup of some of our readers' favorite liquors. We never got around to talking about tequila, though, so now is your chance to weigh in. What is your favorite brand of tequila, and why?
Here's a roundup too, of all the previous discussions of favorite liquors:

Martha Concrete Lam...

For our Easy Eats test kitchen (and our own), we stock Sauza Hornitos - a smoother, sip-able tequila. With staff that grew up in Austin, this recommendation of theirs has quickly turned into ours, too. Added bonus? It's totally affordable!
Brought you to by the gluten-free test kitchens at Easy Eats (easyeats.com). Enjoy!
I drink Milagro Silver because it is easy to drink and not expensive. I think it is between 19 and 27 dollars a bottle. In CA it is about 19. In PA it is about 27. But PA has dumb booze laws. Anyway, this stuff is smooth enough for shots but not so amazing that you feel like you are wasting it in a cocktail.
I really like Cazadores because of the deer on the bottle. It's also very smooth.
Our house tequila is Espolon, mostly because it's a decent compromise between price and quality.
If you get the chance to try Clase Azul it is fantastic. We've also just finished a bottle of Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Anejo, which was amazing with a delicious oaky flavour and one of the smoothest finishes I've ever tasted.
I want to go back to mexico just to buy some of these.
Most of your gold tequilas are artificially colored...which I never understood the point. Why the additives? To make believe it is an expensive aged tequila when it isn't? If I am making margaritas, 1800 Silver is good enough for me.
I'm from Jalisco, México, and I can say, the 1800 and the Reserva Familiar from Tequila Cuervo is the best smooth tequila, also there it is a lot of good tequilas like Corralejo, Etiqueta Azul, Don Jose
Chamucos all the way!
I'll second @easy eats on the Hornitos. I tend to prefer resposados any ways. I find Hornitos every bit as good as Patron at half the price.
at my last job our house tequila was Sauza blanco and we had a couple of call tequilas including Hornitos and Patron. Persoanlly the standard bottle of Jose Cuervo (it think maybe they call it especial) is nasty. it's kind of like Bacardi Silver as a mixer it's ok but is hugely popular due to a good marketing dept.
Casadores or Centenario reposado. They are nice sipping tequilas for the money, though I splurge on the anejos once in a while. Also, no training wheels. Salt and lime is for the junk tequilas. Another also, margaritas should always be on the rocks. Last also, Bloody Marias and Cezars are superior to their vodka counter parts.
I've never been a big fan of tequila, but it sounds like I need to explore one or two of these recommendations. Wasn't too happy about the last from-scratch margaritas I mixed up with my dusty bottle of Jose Cuervo.
Don Julio anejo and Don Eduardo Anejo are both fabulous for sipping straight up, but at 50-60$ a bottle, not an everyday tequila. For mixing and margaritas I like Sauza and the Kirkland brand of anjeo tequila at Cost-Co.
My favorite is Cruz Silver tequila, it is just so smooth that you can sit and sip it. It has a very refined taste that rivals some tequilas that cost two and three times as much. It's only about $40 a bottle and I buy two at a time because you can end up going through a bottle quickly without realizing it.
El Jimador reposado!
I hate tequila and was surprised when someone handed me Don Julio the first time. It was surprisingly good.
Epsolon Reposado Tequila has become my favorite. It's easy to drink, great in a very basic homemade margarita, and you really can't beat the price to quality ratio.
Jose Cuervo reposado.
