In the February 2012 issue of Dwell magazine, Tasting Table—the Daily Candy of the food and wine world—shows off their new 2,200 square foot test kitchen and dining space in Soho, New York. The space is huge (it's much larger than many apartments!), but the gut renovation is still inspiring.Designers Eric Cheong and Loren Daye kept the project well under budget by sourcing materials and furniture at auction and from eBay and Craigslist, and by prioritizing costs. For example, to save on lighting costs, they lit the bar area with clip and rope lights from Home Depot, but they spared no expense in other areas: the kitchen is outfitted with all the latest technology, including appliances from Magimix and Jenn-Air, bakeware by Revol and Speiglau, and gadgets by Polyscience.
